We’re thrilled to announce that Spark Interact has been recognised with a 2025 Australian Web Award for our work on the Carbon Farming Foundation website.
A Night to Remember
Our team representatives, Carol Lobo and Katherine Norris, travelled to Melbourne to attend the awards ceremony, where the best digital agencies from across Australia gathered to celebrate excellence in web design and development. With over 300 submissions judged by a panel of 50 industry experts, the competition was fierce.

It was our first time participating in the awards, and not only did we secure finalist positions in all three categories we entered (Not for Profit, Sport & Leisure, and Science & Sustainability), but we proudly took home the trophy in the Not for Profit category.
“The fact that our sites made it into three categories as finalists, and we’ve never been there before, was amazing,” said Carol Lobo, Founder, reflecting on the achievement. “Then to go on and actually win…it’s really a testament to the work our teams have put in.”

About the Winning Project
The Carbon Farming Foundation website was a comprehensive redesign project that transformed a content-heavy, difficult-to-navigate site into an intuitive, educational platform. It now effectively guides users through the concept of carbon farming, providing an invaluable tool for Australian landholders to become actively involved in the Carbon Credit scheme.
Key features of the award-winning website include:
- Interactive Map: A custom-built SVG map displaying the foundation’s projects across Australia with filtering capabilities and informative pop-ups
- Educational Journey: A carefully structured user experience that leads visitors through educational content about carbon farming
- Bespoke, Australian imagery: Custom illustrations of native Australian plants that add visual interest while maintaining relevance to the content
- Responsive Design: Thoughtful implementation of design elements across all device sizes
- Enhanced Accessibility: Improved colour contrast and typography for better readability

Team Collaboration
The success of this project is a tribute to the collaborative efforts of our entire team, from initial design concepts to final development. The project required close coordination between designers and developers to overcome significant challenges, including:
- Working with a limited brand colour palette and typography restrictions
- Creating an intuitive navigation system for complex information
- Implementing innovative technical solutions for interactive elements
- Ensuring the site remained accessible and user-friendly for the target audience
“The many things we’ve learned as a team in this area of web over the years has really built a solid foundation in both design and development,” noted Katherine Norris, Creative Director. “We’re only going to improve from here.”

Looking Forward
As we proudly display our sustainable award trophy (which can be recycled into other products when its display life is over), we’re excited about the future of web design at Spark Interact. This recognition reinforces our commitment to creating meaningful, effective digital experiences that serve both our clients and their users.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Carbon Farming Foundation for trusting us with their digital presence and to the Australian Web Awards for this wonderful recognition.
Stay tuned for more innovative web solutions from our now award-winning team!
